A dusty frontier town on the Bolivian Altiplano - best known for its collection of rusting locomotives - lays on an unexpected extravaganza, in the form of costume parades to honour the Virgin, more particularly homage to the Virgin of Urkupiņa, patron of the city.
As with my other 2016 Bolivian & Chilean galleries, many of these images were captured on a Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Other images were taken with Nikon D300 using RAW format, and may be licensed.
