Spain's Silver Road, Ruta de Plata

Spain: following the ancient Silver Road, Ruta de Plata, south from Asturias to Andalucia, a journey providing an introduction to the best Spain has to offer, including the network of quality accommodation known as Paradores de Turismo. The Paradores serve as treasuries of Spanish art, as centres for the promotion of regional cuisines and as exemplars for the tourism industry.

The Ruta de Plata leads south from the Principality of Asturias on the north Atlantic coast, crossing the Cantabrian range then continuing south across the meseta, the great Castilian plain, to Extremadura and on to Andalucia and its celebrated capital, Seville, drawing together the threads of Iberian history along the way.
