Nusa Tenggara, the islands east of Bali

These images from a 1987 journey departing from Bali, east through Lombok, Sumbawa, Sumba, Komodo and Flores, were taken on 35mm colour film. Recent visitors assure me that little has changed. At Maumere my companion and I flew north to Sulawesi (rather than continue east towards Timor).

No prizes for the photography here, but the scanning, Photoshopping and displaying of the images captured in these deteriorating negatives allows me to revive memories of a time and place that remains off the beaten track.
