I swapped the Canon SD630 for the Canon S3 IS, a point-and-shoot with a superzoom and more capabilities than the pocket camera, and I tried to get bird pictures, both zoomed in and flying. The telephoto part worked fine, but it's real hard to capture flying birds with good focus! Of course, it's hard with a DSLR and a powerful telephoto as well, but...I did get a few at any rate
