Scientists have discovered what might be an earth-like planet a "mere" 4 light years away.
That is supposed to be very close but, how far away is very close? I heard that it would take, using present
technology, about seventy thousand years to get there . . . that's just one way.
I don't know about you, but it makes me feel so very small, an almost no-thing inhabiting a speck of dust
located within a galaxy containing about 100-400 billion stars which is scattered somewhere
among billions or more other galaxies (latest estimate: 2 trillion), each containing about one hundred billion or more stars.
