The lenten cloth covers the altar in the Friburg Minster during lent. With ten by twelve meters, it is the largest one in Europe
and has been presented from Ash Wednesday until Holy Wednesday for the last 400 years.
In 2003, the Freiburg Lenten cloth was restored and backed with a supporting material.
It now weighs over a ton and must be carried from the workshop with heavy machinery.
