TV Tower at the Alexanderplatz

The TV tower, known as the Fernsehturm or the Tele-spargel, with a total length of 365 m or 1197 ft, is the tallest structure in Germany and one of the tallest in Europe.
It was built in 1969 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the East German Republic by a team of architects with the help of Swedish experts,
to show the World that the West didn’t have a monopoly on technology.
