We met Teddy at the kennel two weeks ago when we boarded Jack and Sophie for our trip.
He was long and shaggy, very dirty and matted, he'd been a stray wandering out in the farmlands.
Someone had rescued him and brought him in to get cleaned up.
He was a little shy and quiet and well behaved.
The groomers told us his story, and that the guy who had found him wanted him but wasn't certain about how his wife would react.
We told the kennel people we might be interested and gave them our number.

This morning, we got a call from Teddy's owner.
Things hadn't gone well with his wife, were we still interested?
We met them at the dog park so everyone could get acquainted.
Jack and Sophie were fine with him, but Cathi and I were a little concerned about rocking the boat at home.
We left with the understanding that we needed to think about it.
This afternoon, after much thought, we picked up Teddy and brought him home.

We think Teddy's a cross between a standard poodle and a labrador retriever. You can see a couple more pictures here.
