August 5th - Comfy Chair

As others have noted here on PAD, Henri Cartier-Bresson passed away a few days ago. His obit was in all the papers today here in the States. I spent some time reviewing a few of his photos on the web today, as always I'm blown away at his eye for the "decisive moment". He insisted that his photos not be cropped. Something I did not know about him was that he disliked the technicalities of the darkroom, he wasn't interested in the development/printing process.

I have always enjoyed shooting in B/W. I miss the look of a well-developed roll of Tri-X Pan. I never got around to puting in my own darkroom; digital came along to soon.
Never mind that I've been planning to do it for over twenty years...

If you procrastinate long enough...

The empty chair! I like your August Black and whites.

I think if I were going to throw a bunch of money into photography, it wouldn't be for more megapixels, it would be for a black and white darkroom.
Just thinking...
I wonder what Diane Arbus would be using if she were around.
