Moths - Lepidoptera

These are some of the moths that came to my porch light, plus a few others. I was amazed to find over 500 different kinds at my Massachusetts house in just one season of watching. Identification is a challenge, but I've had plenty of help from Bob Patterson and others on the Moth Photographers Group. Many of my moth photos appear on the plates at the Moth Photographers Group.

this is a wondeful site.because of this site a could ID many many moths.there are some moths that are uncommom to where i live and that books for my area does not list.so THANKS SO MUCH!!!

me and my daughter found a big moth outside on our back door we wanted to know what kind it was? and how big can a moth get? can we turn it in to someone or just let it go. We captured it and now my daughter wants to keep it as a pet. please let us know thanks!
