Weatherford, TX, I have named mine Boomer. He is about 10" long and has moved onto our back porch. At night he sleeps clinging on a window screen. In the AM he hunts among the plants on the porch. He is very quick and loves to eat grasshoppers. In the hot afternoon he cools himself by lying on the moist soil of a potted plant

I've been living in the Galveston Bay Area for 40 years and have never seen these until last year. They have spread like wildfire and are nearly as numerous as our ubiquitous anole.

I found an egg only 2 mm, diameter, and a tiny baby lizard near by it, partially see through, yellowish sand color, maybe this one?

Don't capture them! They are beneficial in our eco system!

Do people keep them as pets? Are the aggressive? I have them on my property ranging in size from under 3 inches to nearly 1 foot.

These are TX lizards and I live in MS, so did they get here? I have at least 10 of these running around in my front and back yard. I never noticed them till this year so I wonder if they just got here... These things are everywhere down in my neck of the woods! :)

bertman 22-Jun-2009 19:27
You can feed them Super Worms. I have one and he eats them fine. You can find them at Petco.

Will they eat dead crickets?
Grr Lady 06-Jun-2009 22:27
If your lizard is not eating, it is depressed! Think about it. Wouldn't it suck to be in a tiny cage with just a few lousy crickets!

Let them go !
