i am in western north carolina
great smoky mountains
i think this was on my porch light last night
it was dark but it shimmered silver
it looked like a spider from nightmare before christams
the legs looked black and white striped
or black and yellow
it was hard to tell
and when i blew on it and the web
it spun around strangely
as if frenzied
do these live here?

Looks to me like a nice shot of a Silver Argiope, Argiope argentata.
