London - 3 wild and fun days

I went to London in a group that was leaving from Madrid. We were about 10 people. The group got to the city in the beginning of the afternoon. Interesting to mention that the sun rises at 8am in London and sets at 3.30pm (winter time)..which means that 4pm is already night. So, in the first day we had just a few hours of sunlight left to have some decent pictures, since we had to get to the hotel, left the bags, etc and then got out to spend the holiday... and that was the best thing I could do. I wasn't aware that the light was going down so fast, though. It was a funny feeling since it was 2 pm and I was noticing that the light was going down. Then, at 3:30pm I finally understood it would be night in a few minutes. Well, without the tripod I kept walking, got lost several times, but I did not care, I just wanted to register what I was seeing, the full town, the red buses, the taxis, the people, the natural light going down and the artificial light already on.. Wow, I was in LONDON!
The next day was rainning 'til 2pm. Finally, the sun came out and we had some interesting light for shooting, including a very nice sunset when we got closer to the Big Ben, the famous.
In the third day, was that crasy HURRICANE day. We did not know it was going to happen until we started feeling the strong wind against us. And we were on the streets trying to get to the London Bridge. That was a great experience and adventure to me. I've seen hurricanes by the time I was living in Florida, but never got myself exposed to it, however, I was just walking through the streets all day and part of the night. Lucky me that London has strong and very solid buildings besides their beautiful architeture, instead of those paper walls and roofs of USA.
Hope you enjoy the trip!
Cheers,
Martha
