Blackbird (f)

Llanelli, Wales

Turdus merula

AKA: Common blackbird

The males live up to their name but, confusingly, females are brown often with spots and streaks on their breasts. The bright orange-yellow beak and eye-ring make adult male blackbirds one of the most striking garden birds. One of the commonest UK birds, its mellow song is also a favourite. Nice record Gary. The angle of the shadow suggests
A light source other than camera flash. And I
Don't see any highlight in the eye. So I think
You can ingot the previous comment.

Why have you whacked that with flash? Did you manage to blind it?

I suppose you are a 'man with a camera' and not a photographer.
