Extinct Volcanic Lake - we hope!

Lake Pupuke, Takapuna, Auckland

Lake Pupuke is a freshwater lake occupying a volcanic explosion crater.
The lake was a volcano, exploding about 150,000 years ago.

I know what you mean about the extinct volcano, we live near Yellowstone National Park and there have been rumbling of a possible eruption, if it does blow you can count Montana and the surrounding States, as history...

l've never seen this lake, Janice. Quite large.
