Arlington Row, Bibury, Gloucestershire.

view map

Arlington Row cottages were built in 1380 as a monastic wool store. This was converted into a row of weavers' cottages in the 17th century. The cloth produced there was sent to Arlington Mill.

Lovely! The cottages are in very good condition. Nice perspective here. Love the daffodils and canal in the foreground.

A wonderful and colourful photo, Tony.
The history is also fascinating.
The cottages have withstood the ravages of time, including the Stukas
and other bombers, exceedingly well....
lf only they could talk.
Thoroughly charming photography with the pale sunlight and the daffs.
