The Tall Grass prairie Preserve in southern Kansas has a herd of genetically pure American Bison, and is bringing them back from absence in the area. At one time, 130 years ago, more than seventy million of these animals roamed the American prairie. They have lived here for many generations, and the herd is back up over 70 animals. This scene is an attempt at demonstrating what the area must have looked like in 1870.
