I received a "new" lens today that I have been trying to buy for over a year (kept missing them). I have the Russian Jupiter 8 50 f/2 lens that I paid $85 and love. Now I have finally been able to get a wonderful copy of the Jupiter 3 50 f/1.5. The Jupiter 3 is a Russian copy of the famous Zeiss Sonnar 50. I paid slightly more for this one than the Jupiter 8, but it is still a bargain of a lens for a small price.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3 ,Jupiter 3 50m f/1.5
1/20s f/1.5 50mm iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I love the great variety in reds in the blossom.
Detail is just superb...

Hi Cindy, love to read about your lenses and cameras as I am a total ignorant on that stuff! I stick to my digital Canons and thats it! On the other hand your pictures are great and this one is no exception, a wonderful flower study! Russian lens or not!

It is fun to use those old gems, Bob. This one doesn't have the pizazz of that Leica that I used yesterday, but it weighs only about a fifth as much and is faster.

So nice to be able to use those old lenses on a modern
digital body. And we all get to enjoy the wonderful
results!
