I adjusted contrast in SilverEffex pro, Terry, and dropped the brightness of the shadows in PS.

Being all from the same country as their killers,
l suppose this can be construed as Murder of the lnnocents.

This has a very different look, Michael. It almost looks like IR, but
obviously it isn't. Did you do some post-processing of the scanned image
to get this effect?
