Ekubo Coastal Estate is situated in Leisure Bay adjoining Port Edward on the KZN South Coast just before the old Transkei.

It is an Eco-estate, right on the sea, with security gates accessing the main swimming beach in Port Edward and a smaller beach right in front of the estate. The main beach boasts shark nets and has a Ski Boat Club with boats being launched from the one side of the beach. The famous Splash Rock can be seen from the estate and is well within walking distance for keen fishermen. The Estuary lagoon and Estate lies next door to Ekubo.

The original farmhouse sits perched on a hill overlooking the estate and has been renovated and converted into a beautiful Club House with a swimming pool and a fully equipped Gym and a squash Court. The Clubhouse can be rented by residents for functions and weddings etc.

Below the Club House is a grove of magnificent trees, some indigenous, surrounding the low ruins of old farm buildings where they eventually intend to build a little coffee house for the residents. We have bought a plot just below this with a wild nature reserve area that cannot be built on so that one can have an uninterrupted view down to the sea! Buck and many beautiful birds are abundant on the estate. All the roads are brick paved and around June the indigenous Leonotis Leonorus (or wild dagga) which is abundant all over the estate, comes into flower and the estate is filled with sunbirds and butterflies sipping at the nectar. There are stunning walks all around the estate and the sun and moon-rises are spectacular. One can see whales and porpoises cavorting in the sea and the beach directly below the estate is encrusted with shells.

The homes are in the Balinese style and designs have to be approved by the board but are varied in plan and size.
