My only trip to Southern Alberta in 2009 was a quick 3 day trip to Brooks with my friend Carroll Perkins. The main purpose was to photograph insects and we concentrated on three areas, the Rolling Hills Sand Dunes, the east side of Lake Newell and the shore of the Red Deer River near the Jenner Bridge. As usual the weather did not cooperate and the day we spent in the sand dunes was cool, cloudy and windy with occasional rain. Nevertheless, the trip was quite productive.
