Micropezidae - Stilt-legged Fly A1a.jpg

I photographed two different stilt-legged flies on this trip and both were missing two legs, one on each side. Some insects have the ability to easily loose legs as a way of escaping predators. This may or may not be the case with stilt-legged flies.
