Unusual October Rain and Hail Storm

It usually doesn't rain at all during October in southern New Mexico, much less a heavy monsoon-like hail storm

Photos from around our house + our local road and arroyos near Las Cruces, NM (2015)

Our driveway just after the rain ended Hail along the edges of our rain catchment area beside the house This arroyo is dry sand 99% of the year. This is where I often walk our dog Subie, but not today Arroyo below the road The road, going from right to left, is under water flowing down the arroyo PA210195.jpg
