For Vicki Bosak, I haven't been here either in awhile, but glad to hear from you now. I told my sister Celeste, cousins JoAnn, Dennis and Andrew about you and all were wondering what happened to you. I think Dennis and JoAnn knew Dan was still in Mi. But hadn't heard anything in yrs. So much to tell you. Not sure how to share more personal info here? Anyway, I have been doing ancestry for awhile now, hence my being here. Yes, three aunts are living but not well in nineties. Aunt Mary Shafer is still in Windber and Aunt Helen is close by, Aunt Margret is down south with her daughter. All others are gone, as their spouses. I don't have the name of the cemetery off hand that your brother is in, it is the same as our Grandparents and a few others. Will look up and post it later. I do have the photo. I am one of the the middle children in our family and I think you may have been gone all ready when we visited your home back then. So far, other than Mom and Dad gone, all nine of us are still living with families of our own, most in Mi. Anyway, some of the cousins try to get together a few times a year and yes, people would love to hear from both of you guys. If you are on Facebook let me know, might be safer to exchange info that way,

This is for Sandy Bosak. I wonder if you could tell me the cemetery my brother is in and I think Aunt Agnes. Any help you could give me I would really appreciate it.

Yes my dad's was called Cap. I am so thrilled that someone responded..I haven't been on here for a while. I remember many trips to the farm and loved it. Do you know if any of my dad's brothers and sisters are still alive? I live in California. My brother Dan lives in Forestville, MI. He gets on this website also and he would be so happy to hear from someone in the family. Thank you so much,

This is for Vickie/Veronica. Was your Dad called Cap? If so, I would be your cousin, daughter of Mike & Dorothy. The Joe that was found here, would be our Great Uncle Joe. who was our Grandfather Mike, (Michal) Bosak's brother. He also married a Mary and they had a child, who both died of flu. he later moved to New York. he remarried but died before Grandpa. There was also a brother Andrew, who stayed in Czech. Grandpa came from Czechoslavkia in 1906, married Mary Suchy in 1909/10. He worked in the mines until he developed coal miners lung. He died in 1945. The Bosak's worked and lived then, as told by Aunt Mary Shaffer, in mine 35. They also lived later on, on the farm! My Dad left Windber 1936-38 and moved to Detroit. Your father and Uncle's Andy and John also came shortly after, all looking for work. I have a picture taken a few years back of the grave you speak of Joseph Boxak Jr. 1942.

Thank you to whoever found information about my grandfather. What joy I felt. God Bless you,

Hi Veronica, I found your grandfather's name on the WWI, 1917-18 records, his draft card registers him as being born in Sept. 1885 in Austria-Hungary, he was age 33 years old and living at 599 Rairoad St., Windber, Pa. working for the Berwind-White Coal Co., his wife is listed as Mary, same address. Thought you would be interested in adding it to your family history.

My dad was a coal miner in Windber. His name was Joseph Bosak born in 1914. My mothers name was Anna Latchney. My grandfathers name was Nicholas Bosak. We moved to Michigan to find work. but we made a trip to Windber every summer to see many relatives. It was so nice to see pictures of Windber. I have not been there since 1972. I have a brother in one of the cemeteries that died as an infant. Thank you for the memories
