Death Valley ... literally !! They were not kidding when they named it. The heat is beyond any Canadian's imagination. 40°C at 10 a.m. Brutal !!! At least the air is dry. We could only step out of the car for 5 minutes, with an umbrella. I think we never drank so much water in 1 day in our life. However, the Artist's Palette was worth the detour.
Try to visit between November and March. It's absolutely beautiful. It's one of my favorite parks because it offers so many opportunities between 200feet below and 10,000 feet above sea level ... and for the very hot afternoons there is always the pool in Stovepipe Wells or Furnace Creek.
