Over the years this race has morphed from a small gathering of locals into a highly anticipated and sold out yearly ritual. A 1600 rider limit means over 3000 people in attendance, camping, socializing and supporting their teams. Proceeds from this event go to several charitable organizations. With a donation of 2 cans of food along with the price of admission, the Tri-Community Food Bank was the recipient of several truck loads of food. Although the course was 16 miles long and fairly grueling everyone was having a fantastic time and it shows through in the photos with all the fun & big smiles.
Being my first time attending I was truly amazed at the number of riders and just how well and organized this all was. I managed a few hundred shots on Saturday before nightfall. Sunday morning I awoke to a bad radiator hose and did not make it back out to the race grounds. Next year, schedule willing you will find me as a volunteer and there for the entire weekend.
Once again if anyone wants large format copies of any of these pics please drop me an email at Takeyouphotography @yahoo.com, thanks.
