I've been riding motorcycles since April 1975,when I made the monumentally stupid decision,to purchase a new Cossack 175,instead of a one year old Honda CB175K4 Twin Sport(one of the best bikes Honda ever made).The Cossack was awful;it did just 1,000 miles in 2 years.Later in life I did purchase that Honda,as a project bike,but never actually rode it.Most of the images in this gallery have been taken,at High Beach tea hut,or rallies.I have photos of most of my bikes but in 35mm.As soon as I've had them scanned I'll upload them.

I saw a Vincent Black Lightning? outside a coffee shop on a quiet road along the southern coast of Austalia. It was beautiful in the sunlight. I am not a bike guy but could tell it was something special. Must have been 50 years old. The owner comes out, straddles it, and gives the kick starter the slightest downstroke. The machine started right up, purring, then he roared away.

I enjoyed your MC gallery. I wish I would have taken pics of all of mine over the years. Got my 1st, a Cushman, in 1967. Sixteen more since then. Four of them Harley ElectroGlides. Looking forward to seeing your added pics once scanned.

Fascinating gallery Ian, I've never owned one, for about a year a friend gave me regular lifts from Wiltshire to Dorset and back and that cured me of open air motoring.

The easiest, most comfortable, bike I ever rode was the Triumph Tiger 100 650 twin. About 1958 model I think. The most absolute sheer incredible riding pleasure of any bike ever made, was my 1958 BSA Gold Star, 500 single. Riding this bike was motorcycling heaven. An experience in my life that I would have not missed for anything. Come to think of it, I never rode a really bad bike. I always wanted to ride a Vincent Black knight, but the owners of them were very jealous, you could have their wife/girlfriend whatever, but the bike, forget it.
