Ford Castle, site of,viewed from the churchyard.

By Ford church ,Ford, West Sussex, England,UK

Site of a timber castle,C1102AD.Possible siege castle of Arundel.Located just to the North of Ford church and may have had a longer life than just a siege castle.Arundel castle was 3 miles away, but,as the name of this place suggests, there was a crossing point of the River Arun nearby, and so the siege castle's purpose was to block river traffic to the castle and to police the crossing.
