I was married in this church, on 26/6/1982.In those far off days,the ceiling was painted to the signs of the zodiac.Sadly,that has now been removed. see http://www.walthamabbeychurch.co.uk/
I notice in the History section of the notes about the Abbey Church,that there is no mention of the burial place of Harold II of England,who lost the Battle of Hastings,in AD 1066.He owned the land the Abbey was built on and there is a marker stone near the exterior of the East window,claiming that he was buried in the churchyard,following his defeat,in AD1066.
