The sound is unique indeed! A loud rhythmic swooshing. The blades send a vibration down the towers and into the earth. To stand at the base and look up at the spinning blades while hearing and feeling the Swoosh is a treat.
Can't help smiling looking at this gallery. Well done :)
Very nice gallery! =]
Do you have duck every few seconds?
Okay you kids...go play in traffic!
What you describe about standing beneath the turbines reminds me of what we did as kids, standing under train overpasses when the freights came barreling through. The concrete structures amplified the rhythmic noise and vibrations. It was a rush.
The desert setting and the huge number of turbines here make it seem like an incredible experience to visit. I've enjoyed all your photos from the site.
I like this gallery a lot, Lee. It's a young world.
