- This Weekly Challenge - Education
They say life is for learning.
There are many ways and many places we can learn, whether out of books, magazines, newspapers, mobile phones or computers,
but also at schools, universities, museums and exhibits.
If we think about it the variety is vast. -

"About that time, the current building known as the
German Schoolhouse was erected below the church near the creek. It measured 21.5
feet by 23 feet. Until the 1850s or 1860s, school was always taught in German. The
subjects taught were alphabet, spelling, reading, writing, arithmetic, and singing.
In the 1860s, some terms were taught in English and some in German."

What was school like back then?
Most of our parents or grandparents might have went to a one room schoolhouse.
(my mother went to one like this a few miles away.
I can remember some of her stories about it, mostly not always good memories)
Looking thru the window into the desks, back then in 1850's.
