IMG_2677 After Hurricane Irene ...

Deep Run Creek

I am sure this creek was higher earlier but when we drove by the creek was higher than usual
and gushing fast.

Even a tire was bobbing up and down

Roads were closed from overflowing flooding
and branches and mud about

At 7AM
Just about 8" of rain

We did lose power from noon til 5pm,
no worry, I managed to catch up on a nap and do some stuff around the house.
My kids played LIFE but did wonder when we'd get power.

Last night, I was up til about 1 A.M. but this is what it did look like pounding against the window.

May Hurricane Irene fizzle out and though we considered ourselves very lucky
that the hurricane went to more to a tropica storm,
I still think of the many who weren't as fortunate.

Looks the same over here in Laval, just small broken branches, but we had at least 10 rainfall larger this year. Lucky this time.

Amazing series of images Sue Anne! I can really feel the fast movement of the water in the first few images!
