This is the great globular cluster Omega Centauri (NGC 5139) the brightest and
grandest globular cluster of them all. When you consider this deep frame is
almost 2 deg on the side you can appreciate the enormous size this ball of stars
takes up in the southern sky and equates to an area several times that off the
full moon! Some very faint Milky Way Cirrus dust can be seen across the lower
half of the frame too.
