10th place (tie)
Parade of the Tires

by

I took this shot while visiting the town of Augusta Missouri last year. Augusta is a small unpretentious community and a fun place to visit.
These old farm implements were found in a lot along one of their main streets. The town folks didn't pay any attention at all to these old rusty beauties and probably wondered why I did :-) Actually I found them rather interesting, especially the way the tires seemed to be in some kind of formation, almost as if in a parade!

Thanks Frank, Lora and Helen for those nice comments!

Nicely composed, and I think the desaturation works well in this.

What a wonderful capture, and I think the slight desaturation works well. Somehow I don't think most folks would find this site at all ordinary. Lora

Great catch, bottles. I guess there is a lot to explore at this place. It is good that you worked out the beauty of this.

Thanks jp and Daniel for commenting, I love getting comments! And yes Daniel you're right, I did desaturate the image a little. In the original, the front two implements are a rather bright red and green; I thought they were too much of a distraction. Actually, I tried this image in B&W but the tires didn't show up enough to suit me :-) To the folks who live in this town this is an everyday and ordinary sight, but to a visitor it can be quite interesting!

Nice shot bottles, I like very much!. I think that, besides the perfect framing and composition, the PP key in this image is that you have desaturated it a bit. Am I right?.

Wow, that's a real museum of old farm implements. Also a cool sculpture garden.
Someone is a dedicated collector, that's for sure.
Good capture!
