King of the Kob
by Bev Brink

This is as close as this jay will allow,
although he's usually waiting in the wings for a new cob to be put out.

Northern Indiana

wow oh wow... what a shot. The TCON makes the humble 707 shine. Bev - wonderful work.

NIce work, Bev! The kob having been eaten partially and the composition make this image enjoyable for me to view. You could have uploaded a much smaller file (240,000 bytes?). I try not to post anything past 100k if I can help it :-) Again, nice work! Markjay

Lovely capture, Bev. Anyone who hasn't tried to get a closeup of a Bluejay has no idea how difficult it is - pretty near impossible without a good tele lens. They are so much more "skittish" than their grey cousins!

Lovely, striking image Bev; with beautiful composition, color, and detail. Melanie

Ah well, Bev (with the alliterative name), at least you tried and it was appreciated by some! Kinda ruins the fun though when you have to explain it ;-) - Mike

Thank you for your observation, Guest. Actually, I do mean "Kob". The title is alliterative. You will notice in the commentary, the spelling is "cob". Bev

You mean cob, I think.

Nice colors and dof, and I love how he looks like he's guarding the cob!
