The Gods' Last Country - Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula

My family and I traveled to the Osa Peninsula for a vacation in June 2009. The land there is beautiful, exuberant tropical moist forest and wildlife is literally everywhere. Despite this, two factors become readily apparent. Photography in the rainforest is exceedingly difficult. The forest itself is dark and many more animals are heard than seen and are seen than photographed. The second obvious truth is that as wonderful as the wildlife is the native Costa Ricans are just as nice - friendly, welcoming and justly proud of their country. Pura vida!
