Stalk-eyed Fly, Plagiocephalus latifrons (Ulidiidae: Ulidiinae)

Tiputini Forest Reserve, Prov. Orellana, Ecuador

Male stalk-eyed flies are among the oddest looking flies. Stalk-eyed forms are known to occur in several other acalyptrate families, including Diopsidae, Richardiidae, Platystomatidae, and Micropezidae.
