Because of the wacky tide schedule, we decided to break camp at 3:30am and walk by the light of the moon. Unfortunately, the moon slipped behind some clouds, and the terrain was miles and miles of ankle breaking slime covered cannonballs. When we finally sought refuge from the approaching tide, I realized that I had been gripping my trekking pole so tightly that I had removed a good portion of skin from my hand. D'oh!!!!
