I noticed this catapillar on the tip of a Siberian iris blade/leaf in my back yard. I live in Bridgewater, MA and have never seen anything remotely close to this before!! Nothing on this plant was eaten; it just appeared to be hanging out!! The tail ‘feather’ on one end was so prominent, as were the other distinguished marking. Thank you for your gallery of pictures :))

Found one today in Middleboro, MA
It was on a small blueberry bush eating the leaves. I have never seen one before.
I found a photo of the moth it will turn into, and have never seen that either.
Thank you for the great photos.

Found one today in Fairhaven, MA crawling on my brick fire pit grill. The caterpillar did look like it didn't have as much feathering or as healthy (perhaps sick?) as the one pictured above. I took 2 pictures with my phone as I had no idea what it was..never saw a caterpillar like this before.

I found one of these caterpillars in Woods Hole on July 7, 2013. It reminded me of a scorpion with the tail end sticking up and the two long black antennae.Took some photos and let it go on its merry way.

Hello. I believe I saw this little catapiller today at my work in Falmouth, Massachusetts. It was on a bag of dog food a customer of mine was buying. My manager's daughter placed this beautiful catapiller in a nearby bush. I have never seen this type of catapiller before. He or she had black antenna with white squares on its back. This must be the type of catapiller I saw. It's interesting to see the type of moth it turns out to be. :) Thank you for your collection of different types of catapillers.
