Jan. 18, 2005 - Plugged in

Ann Arbor, Mich.

I managed to shoot several shots of this guy from the waist as I stood in line at the coffee shop
this afternoon. The light was coming in very nicely along the westerly windows on a line of
partons at tables. Here's another shot:

Loke a real cowboy!

Can you take someone with a camera with you next time so we can see how this is accomplished? Do you use manual focus?

Great capture, considering that must be hard to get the right composition shooting at waist level. Well done!!

I've been wondering how you managed to get so many really good candid shots. Shooting from the waist explains a part of it. Nice.

Excellent, Steve. I like both of the shots.. maybe the small link a bit better just because it shows him alone in his music world - thoughts of his own - surrounded by people in the same place.

It makes you think that he's in his reality here.

Beautiful lighting. The light hitting the chairs footrests is very nice. I like both photos but think you chose the right one. He is so isolated, plugged into his sounds and computer. It works better to see him seemingly alone.
