There is a bit of a story here. When I moved to the area about six years ago, I would drive by
and see a man working from the garage on a large, beatup steel work boat (fishing or tug),
probably in the 40-foot range. He had it propped up on wood in front of the garage and
gradually it began to look pretty nice. Then one day it was gone and the property (garage,
crumbling barn behind it and the old farmhouse across the street) appeared abandoned.
My guess is the farmer retired, sold the land (there's a McMansion estate now sitting way
back from the road) and followed his dream to be a sailor.
