Brighton, Mich.

Elvis impersonator Sherman Arnold performs Sunday night at the Millpond Concert in downtown
Brighton. He doesn't bill himself as The King, but Arnold says he has been doing his tribute to Elvis
for 48 years now. Arnold is 64 and says he started impersonatating Elvis in 1956 when he was
just 16 years old (Elvis was only 21 himself that year). I don't know if the Elvis impersonating business
is particularly dangerous, but as Arnold roamed through the audience giving scarves out to the ladies,
he was accompanied by what appeared to be a bodyguard.

Steve, when I first saw this in the thumbnail, I thought it was a self portrait!

Elvis lives! I believe every small town must have their impersonator. I love the bodyguard photo. He's keep me away!

Fun portrait - I like the expression on his face and the posture! Elvis is alive and well! (of course!) ;)
