White Sands : Second Sunrise
Fall 2006 Steven Noyes

White Sands : Second Sunrise

White Sands, NM view map

This shot is an extreme example of "warm/ Cold" colors. There is a small band of very warm colors for the approaching sunrise offset by a very cold image overall. The White sand has taken on a dep blue as it reflects the color of the early morning sky.

Fantastic shot amongst a great album - I am looking to pick up a secondhand Canon 5D and this is the type of photo that could sell me on it.

Wow. Great composition and of course exposure control. I love the soft shadow around the base of the shrub, and the fine strands rising up against the blue water. V

Awesome... Everything has been said below. Love the foreground interest, shape of the water leading you in to the image and the warm-cool contrast. Top image. Big Vote!

Steven, I would have to say that this is my favorite of your White Sands shots. The intense blue contrasting with the warmth of the coming sunrise is great. Love the lines and the use of foreground anchor.

This is my favorite of an outstanding gallery. I love the shapes and curves, the subtle textures, and the blue colors (with just enough warm color in the horizon to balance the blues). I hope to make it to this place some day.
