Hungry Tree Swallow Fledglings

See also my gallery Fledgling Tree Swallows.
I watched the habits of the Tree Swallows once they leave the nest. There appears to be a ritual of baby sitting on the nearest perch( limb) of a tree and the parents fly about collecting insects and then come to the baby and feed it. In the above case there were two. It is amazing how they know when to open their mouths as that would be their parent zeroing in on them. After several feeds, all the family fly about and the babies are very rusty. They run out of steam quickly and are not afraid of anything and will fly right into me if I wouldn't duck out of the way. This goes on for two days and then they are all gone as a family--where they leave in mid-July I do not know as I would think it is too early to start on their trek South.

Nice shot, Adeline. I can almost feel the fluffy down of these juveniles.
