It is spring and of course the rooster Ring-necked Pheasants thoughts have turned to mating. We have several resident pheasant that live in and around our yard. I see this guy crowing from the top of a dirt pile that is just across the street. Wanda calls him Rooster Cogburn.
I spent about an hour this morning, hiding at the base of Wanda's trees, waiting to get these photos. If you remember those trees form an island in the road. You know, you get some strange looks from people passing by when you're covered in camo, with a huge camera pointed into the neighbors pasture. At least they didn't call the police.
