Today we had a successful grouse hunt. I bagged one large Blue/Dusky Grouse. The old reliable, Damascus steel barreled, Parker Bros. GH, manufactured in 1924, pointed like the finger of doom and did its job.
Timber bumped another grouse and it would have been an easy quartering away shot but I let it fly. I shouldered the gun went through the motions and mentally pulled the trigger thinking to myself "bang your dead". Timber needs to learn to point and not flush the birds.
