These are scenes from the 22nd annual Mid-Atlantic States Homebrewers' CampOUT held each mid-August in western Maryland. MASHOUT has been organized and sponsored since 1987 by the Washington, DC-based homebrew club Brewers United for Real Potables (BURP). BURPers Chuck and Helen Popenoe have hosted this event on their mountaintop property since 1993.

About 200 homebrewers and loved ones from several homebrew clubs from Pennsylvania to North Carolina gather here every year for three days of great camaraderie, great food, and great beer.
