Bloody Sunset
I took this shot earlier in the summer n a peaceful evening walking in the baylands toward home. It will look the same tonight but it will be a deadly time for the waterfoul who have made a symphony of sight and sound all summer. Only 99 more days. Will there be any sounds left on the marshes which are now invaded by men crawling around with shotguns? Hasn't anybody told them where the Safeway is? 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999

Geese in the No. 2 most threatened waterfowl habitat on the continent
This area spans from San Francisco to Northern Mexico and constitutes habitat for 60% of the Pacific Flyway's wintering waterfowl. Rapid urbanization and water shortages have been contributing factors in the loss of habitat in this area. The Central Valley/Coastal California region is considered number two of the twenty five most threatened waterfowl habitats on the continent. Wikipedia
Are they on someone's dinner table tonight?

...thanks to my friends...
My sincere thanks to all of my friends for your compassion and empathy. All of my life, I have tried to avoid violence and barbarism of all sorts. I am researching the issue of sports hunting a little each day. It has certainly been agonizing and time consuming. I have the impression that Americans know little of the situation. I feel compelled to do my part even if I am only tilting windmills. Please forgive my unpleasant captions and do not read them if they disturb you.

This shot was taken in mid summer. I see almost no ducks in this area. The coots are also UNFAIR game.
