The sun is low in the sky and we return to Mesquite Cemetery to meander amongst the tombstones and hear stories from the past.
You see... everyone has a story to tell. But... some are no longer with us and must speak to us from the grave.
And that is why we gather in small groups to hear those stories and to honor those who have gone before us.
The letters on the tombstones only give us names and dates but there is so much more.
Step back in time as we hear about the lives of a few of these individuals... and then, think about how you want to be remembered.
A special thank you to Charlene Orr, Executive Director of the Board of Historic Mesquite, Inc., the many volunteers,
as well as the cast of the Mesquite Community Theater for bringing Mesquite history to life.
There is a vast amount of research done in order to put these narratives together.
It was a most enjoyable and enlightening evening.
A NOTE FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER: Technology is changing, and it is now possible to have a video tombstone to share your life with others at the touch of a button.
Think about how you would like your life represented, and... who better than YOU, to be the presenter!
Perhaps the time is now to put together a slide show or a video message directly from you! Yes... you too have a story to tell!
