Meet Lefty...

So Mollie and I are walking in the market and here comes a fella carrying this huge "thing".
He stopped and introduced himself and asked if I knew what it was.

Heck... no! Never saw anything like it in my life!
Now I like to cook and love to read about all kinds of foods from around the world but this one had me stumped.

"Did you buy it here?"... I asked. (No, actually Lefty grew this in his garden!)

Then he told me it was an Armenian Cucumber. Never have I ever heard of such a thing!
And with that he reached out and told me to take it... that he wanted me to have it.
I was just overwhelmed with his generosity and was anxious to try it.

So tonight I am going to my daughter's for a barbeque and will tote along the Armenian Cucumber.
I bet no one else will know what it is... and I can't wait to try it!

Thank you Lefty for being so kind and for raising this curious cucumber!

How interesting. I would have guessed a squash.
Please let's see some of the slices. What a great man Lefty is.
He spotted an appreciative woman for sure.

Since I'm married to an Armenian, I HAVE heard of such a cucumber. But, I've never cooked one ~ so I can't help you here!!!
There's a joke in Armenia where they way "you scratch my back and I'll comb yours!"
Bon appetit! :)
